Principle of PCO Sterilization
Hydroxyl radicals generated through photocatalytic reaction have an outstanding ability to conduct the oxidative decomposition of
powerful organic substances they are an excellent decomposer of odor, viruses, bacteria and germs.
Oxygen, moisture and floating viruses (harmful chemical substances) roam in the air.
When they receive sunlight, electrons(e-) and positive holes (+) are created on the surface.
Electrons change to uperoxide anions(O2-) through
the reaction with oxygen on the surface of photocatalysts.
Positive holes react with water molecules existing in the air and
change to hydroxyl radicals(neutral OH).
Harmful chemical substances transform to water and
carbon dioxide through oxidation reaction of radicals.

The European Commission classified Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) as carcinogenic inhalation category 2
on Oct. 1, 2021, based on the scientific view of the European Food Safety Authority and many controversial regulatory measures to date.
